Have you checked your fire blankets?
Fire blankets are an essential item in your fire safety kit. By law you need to have one in any public or business area, but wise people also have them at home, in the caravan or on the boat.
Fire blanket regulations state that your fire blanket should be Australian Standards approved — AS/NZS 3504:2006 - Fire blankets - and it must measure no less than 1 metre by 1 metre.
Like all fire safety equipment, fire blankets also need to be regularly inspected for operation and wear, to ensure they remain fit for purpose. In the event of a fire, a fire blanket may be the first thing you reach for so you need to be confident that it will do its job.
